You are going to need a healer or a pray (or maybe two) saved up to do this quest. Isi will set you on fire. At level 50 with 1 fire resist and 781hp it burned for 262 x 6. It burned for a similar amount when I had 1500hp and ~80 fire resist.
Go to the sage in Pen, there is now a child there...
#37061 Before a Comfortable Hearth
ask isi ser
Isidorius frowns.
Isidorius says: "Oh, thats a sad place now. It is the home of Larisian'ies, she's a cloud dragon you know, she helps protect everyone on the ground from dangerous flying monsters. My family spends alot of time with her."
Isidorius begins to weep pitifully.
Isidorius pulls his arm across his face, wiping away several tears.
With a quiver in his voice, Isidorius whispers to you: "Everyone there has been corrupted by something scary. My brother and sister cannot be saved... the corruption is too deep. If they aren't killed, they will do terrible things to the people they have protected for so long."
Isidorius begins to weep pitifully.
ask Isidorius portal
Isidorius says: "I do not know how the portals work. My brother did, but I know he needed my sunshine orbs to get to Larisian'ies."
ask isi orb
Isidorius thinks deeply about the situation.
Isidorius says: "I can create sunshine orbs, Not many people know about them, but you probably want one? I can't just give one to anyone though, I need to be careful with them."
Isidorius leans close to you and whispers: "I will give an orb to someone that is tough, and is willing to help destroy the monster, but you don't look very tough to me. I can test you to see, but you should know its going to be PAINFUL and if you aren't strong enough, the test might kill you."
Isidorius continues to whisper to you: "I'd feel really bad if you died. But if you want to try, just tell me yes and I will prepare myself for your first test."
to isi test
Isidorius says: "Oh, the test? I am not powerful like my brother and sister yet, so I will not fight like they would. I will unleash the full power of the sun and see if you can survive it. Sending someone that is too weak would be a terrible thing, but this is going to really hurt you. It would prove your tenacity though, so thats a bonus!"
to isi yes
You say to Isidorius: "yes"
Isidorius says: I hope you understand how painful this will be. When you are ready tell me that you are "Prepared."
-*- You have been assigned a quest! -*-

Isidorius frowns.

Isidorius says: You are tougher than you look! I am glad that the orb didn't disintegrate you.
Isidorius says: "Tough is one thing, Strong is another. If you can pass my second test then I will give you the orb, and you can go kill the monster! Ask me about the fae creature if you want to take a second test.
ask isi fae
Isidorius says: "We always watch for fae creatures that most people do not even know exist. Some are really hard to find you know. After Etrahnin found me and brought me here, I was able to sense a creature nearby that we usually hunt for you. Since my brother is not here, you should end the threat before it grows too big."
Isidorius says: "I do not know exactly where it is, but it must be close, and I know its in that direction." (Isidorius points to the south west). "You will find a creature called a Sheshisyo. They look like a snake, but much more dangerous. They grow very fast because they consume the ambient magic of the world. If you seek it out, you will want to keep your eyes out for snakeskins that absorb light. It will likely be in the ground, hiding."
Isidorius says: "If you bring me his fang, then I will know you won!"

You gain 1,000,000 experience points!
Isidorius gives you a lesser sunshine orb.
Isidorius closes his eyes and puts his cupped hands close together.
A tiny pinprick of energy forms between Isidorius's cupped hands, before suddenly growing into a glowing orb!
ask isi monster
Isidorius shivers uncomfortably.
Isidorius takes a deep breath and continues. "We arrived in Serene through the portal network and immediately knew there was a problem. Everything was crazed and then IT arrived and went straight for my brother. I saw how they were overwhelmed and when Vaisholin knew we had lost, she turned to me and told me to run and find help."
Isidorius continues: "The portal was too far away and there was an elemental in my way, so I did the only thing that I could do. I jumped, and tried every trick I know since I do not have my wings yet. I crashed into the ground really hard and that was when Etrahnin found me."
ask isi portal
Isidorius says: "I do not know how the portals work. My brother did, but I know he needed my sunshine orbs to get to Larisian'ies."
ask isi orb
Isidorius says: "You are silly. You already have a sunshine orb. I do not know where the portals are, but I know it is how we got through the portal network."
ask isi sister'
/ ask isi brother
Isidorius frowns.
Isidorius says: "My brother and sister have been there my whole life. They have been around for as long as Larisian'ies I think. They do so much good, but never want any credit. They do not even let those they help know they helped. They do everything to make others lives better.
They were so excited, they said they had tracked the monster that was the cause of so many atrocities to the domain of the cloud dragon. They were also working on how to stop the corruption that was spreading, but found that the only solution was to completely destroy anything so corrupted. They would want to be sure they were stopped before they did evil things."
ask sage Kieran
The sage's eyes go glassy for a second before realization strikes him, "Kieran oh! I didn't take you for an academic. My apolagies. You see that is not a name many people have even uttered in centuries.
He continues, "Den'tiren began the conversations lately and dredged the name up from some old tomes. He is mentioned in a few places but time marches on and its easy to forget those that came before us. Some day I'll be forgotten too. But you want to know about the archmage Kieran. He created the gates as far as we know, and some believe that he went to other realms or other places that none of us have ever seen."
ask sage den
The sage scowls for just a split second, "He's a pompous fellow, but you can't discredit his work lately digging up ancient texts. I don't know where he got them from, some stronghold that the cult he runs with took over."

'My name is Kieran and I am a mage of great power... although I am biased in that conclusion. I have dedicated my life to the study of artifacts from the past, of the times when the gods were more giving and gave to mortals the power to create items of unbelievable power. No longer can mere mortals create such relics, the power torn away by the very gods who gave it, each saving their power for the godly wars that were fast brewing. Thus I study these artifacts, in an effort to vault myself to godly heights and forge the world to my liking. This is my fourth book, each written to describe the single artifact that I was working on. This book will be dedicated to the platinum portal...'

The Platinum Portal 'In all my studies I have not yet found which mortal or god created this relic, although I have found the reason for its exsistence. As the name implies, this is a magical portal of some power... although its past is shrouded in mystery and obscurity, I have found a few locations that the portal will allow access to, and my research indicates there are many more. I have found that a mage, when using the proper reagents, is able to open the portal. The reagents are varied although the incantion that accompanies these reagents seem to flow through the mage rather than coming from him or her.'
'After experminenting for some time, I showed this artifact to my friend Wraszi because I know how much she loves to tinker with lost history. Few, have as keen of a mind as my little friend. To my surprise, she was able to power the portal as well, using a device filled with arcane energies. She called it a battery, I wonder if any other could create such a fantastical creation.'

'Perhaps one of the most harrowing and nightmarish adventures in all my life occured as I stepped out of the portal and onto the top of a cloud... in the midst of a raging thunderstorm, the likes of which I have never before seen nor would I ever like to again. I was actually able to walk on the top of a cloud as if I weighed nothing at all, this only possible due to the magics of the portal that I had walked through. A perpetual storm seemed to be hanging just above me, stuck as I was between two layers of clouds.'
'I was able to open the portal to this raging storm using three simple objects, first a handful of emerald dust, second a storm orb, and third a ceremonial dagger with which I spilled my own life's blood. I should have known that nothing good could come out of a storm orb. Although I did not remain there for long, nor venture far from the return portal, I did witness some amazing sights. I saw, lightning that actually had a physical form and appeared to have reasoning capabilities, black steeds with flaming hooves that could fly, and titans of unbelievable size that could call forth the destructive power of the storm itself. I have noted what I saw, not as an ivitation to prove your bravery nor your strength, but instead as a warning to not travel to this location, for it surely must mean death.'

'Since my first adventure to this bizarre location I have returned many, many times. After exiting the portal I once again found myself standing on the top of a fluffy cloud, this time brilliant sunshine filling my eyes, almost but not quite to the point of blinding me. In all the times that I have been back, I have not yet once seen the darkness of night above the fluffy white clouds that make up the dazzling landscape. Walking around on the clouds is still quite unsettling for me, even though I am well aware that it is a magical affect granted to me by the portal itself.'
'I was able to open a portal to this place, which I have named Serene Sunshine, using just two simple objects, first a handful of turquoise dust, and second a sunshine orb, finding no cause to use any of my own essence this time. Although I have spent much time there, I know I have not traveresed the entire area, fearing for myself should I ever leave the return portal too far behind. In my times there, I have witnessed clouds that could walk, flying pegasi and small little cherubs flittering about mischievously. My decision this time to write down the ways to open this portal is simple. Everyone, I feel, deserves to travel there for a small respite from an overly-violent world.'
