This quest must start from a previous mort, aka this is a multimort quest.
You must be between levels 25(?) and 45(?) to be allowed to start (maybe also complete)
The pet grows with usage and eventually becomes mountable, it can wear barding, horseshoes.zephyr, and saddle bags,
Thanks Rial for telling us all this quest was in the game, and ensuring it was complete.
Go to Fiery Desert (Minos):
search shelf to find a "a little golden book" aka "A Little Golden Book Of Wyverns"It's easiest to start off with this step (if this isnt done before a specific step you lose the pet and have to start all over)
Go to an altar and sacrifice and item to Rhiqua to start worshipping her.
sacrifice <item> [to] Rhiqua
To change your religion to hers.
Go to the Dragon Hatchery and ask the gnomish warrior (Galbrosh) at the start of the zone about the wyverns
ask Galbrosh wyvern
Galbrosh peers around the room.
Galbrosh tells you:
"Do I look like I care about Rhiqua and those infernal wyverns she protects?"
Galbrosh shudders in fear.
Galbrosh spits at the ground.
Galbrosh tells you:
"You should seek out the animal speaker, if anyone knows anything about Rhiqua or dragonkynd, I'd think he would be the one to ask."
Go to town of Sos'Kul.
The Speaker of Animals is in the north western room west of the warlord.
ask speaker wyvern
You ask the Speaker to Animals about Rhiqua, queen of wyverns and dragonkynd.
The Speaker to Animals tells you:
"There issss much to ssssay on this sssssubject. I am not the mossst knowledgable about it. Sssseek out those who may know about dragonsss and wyvernssss. Those who keep them asss petssss, those who defend and protect them, and those who are sworn into Rhiqua's sssservice."
The Speaker to Animals tells you:
"Asss I think on it, there wassss a white rabbit who related a story of a dwarf who loved Rhiqua. It hasss been long ago ssso I cannot remember more of the tale. Also passsssed onto me from the salamandarfolk wassss that ssssome of their kind had been forced to walk a dry, hot, fiery land filled with wyvernss and that they were most afraid of the wyvern's masssstersss in that sandy place."
The Speaker to Animals tells you:
"Wait! I've thought of something. Recently there has been word of a beautiful lady near a pool who is said to be Rhiqua's servant. Maybe the master of visions has heard more of this?"
Now go to the Master of Visions on the south part of the town of Sos'kul
ask master lady
You ask the master of visions about his vision of the maiden at the pool and the scent of mushrooms.
The master of visions tells you:
"I see no more about her! Try asking the Speaker to Animals, maybe he has heard more of her and that place than I. I can only tell you of the visions of Rhiqua and dragonkynd that I've had. I cannot predict the future nor can I discern the locations of my dreams."
ask master dragon
You ask the master of visions about Rhiqua and dragonkynd.
The master of visions tells you:
"Of Rhiqua, many visions have I of her children. I have visions of dragonkynd- the dragons, the wyverns, and the great wyrms! Such things have I seen, but I will tell you only of one vision which may contain the information you seem to seek."
The creature it mentions is a 'blue-crested troglodyte'.
Go back to Galbrosh at the Dragon Hatchery
ask Galbrosh pool
Galbrosh tells you:
"If yer askin' me 'bout that maiden by the pool where the mushrooms are, she likes these here dragon shell fragments I got fer sale. Wanna buy one?
Just ask me 'bout 'em. I got nothin' more to say 'bout her and her wyrm queen and those stupid trog farmers."
Galbrosh grins.
ask Galbrosh dragon
Galbrosh tells you:
"As a matter of fact, I happen to be in possession of a dragon's eggshell fragment from a newly hatched dragon."
Galbrosh grins.
Galbrosh tells you: "I won't part with it for less than a platinum coin!"
Galbrosh raises an eyebrow.
The warrior's extended hand suggests he waits for something....give plat.coin Galbrosh
You give a platinum coin to Galbrosh.
Galbrosh giggles.
The coin quickly disappears from view, secreted away in some pocket, no doubt.Galbrosh tells you:
"I will give you a dragon's shell. You're a fool, you easily could have found one for yourself, but then I would be no richer!"
Galbrosh shakes his head.
Galbrosh tells you: "I bet you want that thing for the same reason the last person came here asking for one. Something to do with some moldy mushroom people! That's just crazy. Well, off with you then!"Galbrosh throws back his head and cackles with insane glee!
You will then have "a fragment of a dragon's eggshell " in your inventory
Go to Troglodytes
Go to the city portion of the zone (north past the bridge), and take a right and a second right to a building with a pool in it, "Inside a building" (room# 49319) then crush eggshell.
You crush up a fragment of a dragon's eggshell and sprinkle it into the water
A thick, silvery mist swirls around the edges of the pool.
The water in the pool begins to bubble violently.
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua steps forth from the water. Standing at its edge, she says, "You have summoned me here to a purpose. Speak your desire or release me to return to my mistress' side."
ask handmaiden wyvern
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua tells you:
"It is a difficult task, involving much travel and searching and such good care must be taken with the egg... oh, and the tome of instruction, you must have that too! Let me see..."
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua looks you over carefully noting the way you dress and your mannerisms.
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua tells you:
"Yes, I can see you are a ranger, but have you the skills required to be master to such a charge? Let me see..."
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua looks you over, as if scrutinizing your abilities as a ranger.
You need to be under level XX(45?) otherwise you get this message (I was lvl 72)
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua tells you:
"I see you have the skills necessary to master the wyvern hatchling. Rhiqua would consider you worthy."
"A believer! Following the path of service to the Queen of Wyrms is a difficult task of another kind. You have chosen wisely."
IF you do NOT serve the goddess Rhiqua you get this message:
"It is a pity you do not serve our Queen. Neverless, you still have been found worthy to proceed with the Rite of Blessing."
"Harken well what you must do."
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua tilts her head slightly to one side.
"Have you the tome of instruction for your companion?"
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua raises an eyebrow.
NOTE: What happens if you say NO? Is that how I learn of the book???
to handmaiden yes
-*- You have been assigned a quest! -*-
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua tells you:
"Good. I will perform the purification ritual that will make your companion worthy in my mistress' eyes."
Taking the egg carefully from Fung, a Handmaiden of Rhiqua raises the egg high in the air with both hands.
Speaking in a language understood by all, a Handmaiden of Rhiqua exclaims loudly, "By she of all fire and scale! By she of all tooth and claw! I ask thee, my mistress, to visit your blessing on this, your offspring. Make it swift of wing, strong in thew and quick of eye that it may ever be a testament to the power and might of your children!"
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua gently places the egg within a basket woven from reeds.
A Handmaiden of Rhiqua dips the egg in the pure water of the pool.
As a Handmaiden of Rhiqua lifts the egg in the basket from the ceremonial pool, a brilliant red flame of dragonfyre dances all over the egg.
All of the impurities removed, the fire quickly dies away. The egg seems just a little brighter.
Leaning in closely, a Handmaiden of Rhiqua instructs you, "Rhiqua has granted your request, but heed me! This is only the first rite. Take your companion and tome to Khernan Doon in Kha-Da. He will continue the ritual for you."
As a Handmaiden of Rhiqua hands the egg to Fung, she prays, "May Rhiqua's wings shelter you and keep you from harm!" Then she gives the tome back to Fung.
ask handmaiden wyvern
Will eventually get you a clue on Khernan Doon
We have already completed the ritual of purification. Now, take your tome of instruction toward Kha da and find Khernan Doone. You'll find him nearby within a warm circle upon the ground. Tread carefully so as not to disturb the faeries.
ask handmaiden dragon
The mistress that I serve has a profound love for and is dedicated to the care of wyverns, dragons, and wyrms. Rhiqua's protection is afforded to all who choose to serve her, but the path is not an easy one to follow. The guardianship of her children is a sacred bond into which you must enter by affirming your desire to defend all of dragonkynd. If this is your desire, then you must choose never to cause harm or pose any threat to any of Rhiqua's children. For surely in doing so, Rhiqua's wrath would be ignited.
If you truly wish to know, ask me how to begin your journey down the path of service to Rhiqua.
"Whisper 'Nadezhda' if you need my services again!"
ask handmaiden how begin path
You ask a Handmaiden of Rhiqua how to begin your journey down the path of service to the Queen of Wyrms.
"That is a good question, my child. Unfortunately the Imms haven't given me a good answer yet. Try back in a week or two. Perhaps by then my mind will be as clear as their vision."
From the Kha-Da Obelisk do speed 6s2uene to get to the deadend in the mountains with a fairy circle (room# 26554, Faerie Ring).
With the wyvern's egg and a prismatic scale in your inventory:
Stand Ring
You step into the faerie ring and hold a prismatic wyvern scale high above your head.
As the last golden ray of the setting sun shines upon a prismatic wyvern scale, a prismatic display of colors swirl in the sky.
The swirl of color winds down from the sky and begins to consolidate into the form of a dwarf. In the blink of an eye, a barrel-chested priest of Rhiqua stands before you.
ask Doon wyvern
"Who are you to be asking about dragonkin?"
Khernan Doon squints, trying to get a better look.
Khernan Doon sniffs.
"Ranger by the look and smell of you. Found an egg and want to turn it into a pet, eh?"
Khernan Doon snorts derisively.
to Doon yes
Khernan Doon tells you:
" Good! Guess you're not a ranger for nothing. Came prepared. I like that. So! The Handmaiden should have asked Rhiqua to bless your egg and purify it, eh? I will now perform the ritual of strength that will make your pet a mighty foe. Please hand me your tome of instruction."
Taking the egg carefully from Fung, Khernan Doon cradles the egg gently in his arms.
In a loud, strong voice, Khernan Doon proclaims to the skies, "Rhiqua! I hold a child of dragonkynd. Dragonmother! Bless your offspring. Harden its flesh. Give it the power and strength worthy of the name of wyvern that it may strike down enemies with ease and terrify them with its cries!"
Khernan Doon takes out a vial and annoints the egg with a bright orange oil.
As the liquid runs down the sides of the egg, a fiery halo of flickering
dragonfyre surrounds it, then quickly dies away.
Khernan Doon looks at the wyvern's egg and smiles.
As Khernan Doon hands the egg to Fung, he prays, "Rhiqua's power protect you and your pet!" Then he gives the tome back to Fung.
ask Doon Sahya
Khernan Doon tells you:
"Perhaps the local gossips in Narak would have more information about Sahya.
A Child of Anor cannot be mistaken. Benign smiles, random acts of kindness, nurturing the poor, elderly, ailing, and plants...these are all common traits of the Children of Anor."
Khernan Doon tells you:
"Narak is an interesting place. Lots of colorful characters live and work there. It is to the far northwest from here, but that's all the help I can provide. I rarely stray further from the faeries I have befriended here."
Go to the Greenhouse in the town of Narak.
ask Sahya wyvern
Sahya grins.
Sahya tells you:
"Well, pluck my heartstrings! You have a wyvern's egg, don't you? I haven't seen one of those in quite a while. You're very lucky."
Sahya smiles happily.
Sahya tells you:
"Because you came prepared I can begin right away. I'll try to do this as quickly as possible as I know you've had such a long journey to get here from the Vaasa and then Kha-da."
Sahya nods.
Sahya tells you:
"Oh good! The seals from the Handmaiden and Khernan are in place. All that remains now is to bless your pet with a loving heart so it will be your faithful friend for life."
Sahya tells you:
"You just tell me "Yes" when you're ready to begin the ritual."
Lifting the egg with both hands, Sahya raises it well above her head.
Dear Rhiqua! This ranger has come bearing a precious child of dragonkynd to me for your blessing of faithfulness. Please reward their hardships by granting this wyvern, your offspring, a kind and loving nature and enduring loyalty. Let it be compassionate and affectionate combining the best of your gifts with those of gentle Anor's.
Bringing her arms back down, Sahya, holds the egg tightly to her breast.
Looking toward the heavens, she whispers softly, "Thank you for this special gift. May it be used to save many!"
Laying her head against the egg, a single tear rolls down her cheek and falls onto the egg's brightened shell.
As the tear slides over the egg, a fiery halo of flickering dragonfyre surrounds it, then quickly dies away.
Sahya smiles happily.
"Oh, you picked a good one! I just know you'll be fast friends. Please remember to be kind and patient with him as he learns."
As she hands the egg back to Fung, Sahya says, "Rhiqua has granted you a
wonderful pet. Just follow the rest of the instructions in your manual to hatch your egg. Anor give you the love to keep it well. Take good care of each other! OH! If you're ready to hatch your darling, there is a perfect spot nearby. I shouldn't have said that, you must figure it out on your own, and you will!"
In theGreenhouse zone (room# 44511) is the sand you need.
Go 2 rooms east from Sahya to the Oasis, Outside the Greenhouse - In the Warm Sand.
Read the book again to have the incantation phrase appear:

The back cover of this book has three circular indentations across the bottom two thirds of the cover. A watery blue seal has been placed into the first slot. A blazing red seal has been placed into the second position. A bright golden seal takes up the third spot. Some letters are beginning to form in the blank area above the seals.
Above the watery blue, blazing red, and bright golden seals on the back cover, the text finally appears and reads:
"Place the blessed wyvern egg on warmed sand, then INCANT THIS PHRASE ALOUD:"
With the egg in your inventory:
incant Blessed Birth
You gently place the egg, upright, in the warm sand.
The egg seems almost happy. Rocking gently, the egg turns itself slowly in a circle. It must be time for the egg to hatch.
You stand before the wyvern egg and incant loudly, "BLESSED BIRTH!"
Shimmering like an oasis in the distance, a large mother wyvern appears.
The egg gently sways back and forth as though listening to its mother's lullaby.
The spirit of a mother wyvern smiles at a large, warm, red-flecked egg.
The egg begins to rock violently back and forth while a huge crack appears down the center of the egg.
The egg splits open and the young wyvern hatchling emerges!
The mother wyvern, her job complete, begins to fade from view. Surely she must be off to share the news of another child's birth with Rhiqua, Queen of Wyrms.
A sacred wyvern hatchling now follows you.
read book
This book was written for the ranger who deems himself prepared to master the wyvern.
There are two sections which discuss this in great detail. The first section starts with Chapter One and deals with how to tame a wyvern for which the ranger was not present during its hatching process. While the second section begins with Chapter Four and elaborately details the hatching process for which the ranger intends to bond with a wyvern hatchling.
This is a complicated and dangerous undertaking and is not a task for the capricious. Remember, the Queen of Wyrms watches over her children with careful diligence, dedication and love.
(ex. type read one to read the first page, read two, for the second)
read one
A wondrous creature, the wyvern. Smaller than the dragon, but more agile and with the added benefit of wings. These bird-like reptilian creatures are cunning and clever. It is no small wonder the ranger dreams of taming the wyvern, for the beast makes an excellent companion. There are none more loyal.
To begin this venture, the ranger must fashion for himself an herbal wand and have it imbued with magical properties by one whom Rhiqua has blessed. The customed wand will be necessary if the wyvern is to be subdued enough for the ranger to master its taming.
read two
The herbs required for the wand grow most commonly in open fields about the realm. The ranger will need to collect handfuls of lemongrass, basil, and peppermint, as well as a few strips of wintergreen bark.
To lend sturdiness to the wand, it is composed of four willow branches.
Not just any willow branch will do. A supple thin, green willow branch found in rare regions of the world is the only kind that will suffice. Someone well-versed in the manner of taming wyverns might know where these can be found.
Perhaps even, someone who has survived an encounter with a wyvern would be of help in determining where to look.
read three
These ingredients must be taken to someone practiced in the art of weaving the magically infused wand that the ranger must wave before the wyvern in order to tame it. Rhiqua is selective about those to whom she gives her blessings, so finding such a person who can fashion this wand might be a bit of a task in itself.
Once equiped with the wand, all a ranger need do is find the wyvern he wishes to tame. Exercise great care in the taming of the wyvern, for even with all these precautions, sometimes the act of taming of a wyvern fails to produce the intended result. Not all wyverns are compatible with just any master either. The greater the ranger's experience in taming animals, the more likely it is he will be successful.
If the wyvern cannot be tamed, then either the ranger is not yet experienced enough to cast tame on the beast, or the beast is already enslaved to another master. Once tamed, the wyvern remains loyal to its master until its death.

Beneath the picture, the following text appears:
The hatchling wyvern is a chaotic creature that can only be bonded to one master, a very skilled ranger. The singular means by which a hatchling wyvern can be tamed is to obtain the egg of a wyvern before it has hatched and follow carefully the hatching instructions set forth in this spell book.
read six
The ranger undertaking this task will be required to journey great distances.
This small book and the wyvern's egg destined for hatching must be carried to clerics who know the rites to be performed on the future companion. Only their blessings will suffice. Should these steps be taken without due thought and consideration to the companion, Rhiqua's wrath will be incurred upon the head of the ignorant ranger. There is much to lose if this warning is not heeded.
There are three rites that must be performed in the exact order given. Each ritual depends upon the blessing on the egg before it and cannot be performed without the appropriate seal in place. After each ritual, the cleric will place their unique sigil on the last page in this book. When all the insignias are in place, this book will magically transform into a spell book whereby the final step in this sacred hatching ceremony may then be taken.
There are pictures on each of the following pages intended to guide the enlightened ranger in the pursuit to perform the rite of hatching a wyvern.
At the bottom of the page, scrawled in a different handwriting, is this warning:
If not skilled enough, the cleric invites you back.
If you wait too long, the cleric takes your egg back.

Beneath the picture, is a dire warning:
read eight
A picture takes up most of the page, with some text following it.
Find the ceremonial pool of hatching. Only from this spot can the cleric for Rhiqua, who is the first seal giver, be summoned. The ranger must have both this book and his wyvern egg at the ready as he crushes the eggshell over the pool to summon the cleric. Listen carefully to her directions and follow them without deviation.
read nine
Remember well the words of the first cleric. There should be one seal in the book when you visit the second seal giver. If you do not have this seal in place, the hatching ceremony may not be continued. Only a prismatic scale shed from a hatchling dragon or wyvern will do as a reagent for summoning this cleric of Rhiqua. Pay close attention to the time, as this will make a difference in whether you are successful in the summoning.

Anor, the child-goddess, ever watchful over Rhiqua, lends her hand in the hatching ceremony. Be sure that both seals have been placed into the book or her cleric will be of no help. These beloved clerics like to wander the realm. Many of them enjoy searching out new plants or nurturing ailing or dying plants. Try asking about the towns for a child of anor.

Hatchingly to Juvenile text reads as:
The young wyvern groans loudly and arches his back, stretching and growing larger!
You will now have a Gemstone of Dragon's Breath in your inventory.
Get another egg and book (both get consumed, not sure why book is consumed)
Go back to Narak's Greenhouse.
Go to the far east to the sand room.
Make sure the wyvern's egg, gemstone, and book are in your inventory (not in a bag).
incant blessed birth
BAM new wyvern!
