Thank you Xinthian for the clues to start this one!
Go to the The Lost Grove
to elderly hi
An elderly man tells you:
"Well, hello! It has been a long time since anyone has been granted Her favor to visit this grove. And please, do not let my age startle you. I still have a few years of service left in me. I am but a humble servant of the ancient Goddess whose powers once protected this entire valley."
An elderly man tells you:
"I am the watcher of this grove. If anything happens to it or its magical creatures, I must answer to the Goddess when She returns. So please, be as kind to this wood as possible, offering even the trees the highest courtesy."
ask elderly creatures
An elderly man tells you:
"The creatures in this grove are all her servants. From the sprites to the leprechauns, every individual within this grove use to be one of Her people, until Her protective spell changed their forms. The majestic of all of Her creatures, though, would be the unicorns which reside in the grove."
ask elderly unicorn
An elderly druid tells you:
"Ah, forgive me, sometimes the pain makes me forget. The unicorns are no longer of this place. The mare is lost to us forever and the stallion has fled."
An elderly druid tells you:
"It was a very sad day when the unicorn stallion's mate fell prey to that pack of vile hobgoblins. As a servant of the Goddess who once oversaw this entire valley, I tried to stop the hobgoblins, but was too late. The mare was chased across the grove until finally she was snared and her horn taken. The last I saw the mare, she was feeding in the southeast corner of the grove."
ask elderly grove
An elderly druid tells you:
"With the very last vestiges of Her power, the Goddess placed a protective spell on this grove, preserving it and all of its denizens for all of time, until She returns."
ask dog unicorn
A large dog tells you:
"Please. I haven't eaten in days. Find me a tiny silver egg and I'll tell you what you ask."
A Tiny Silver Egg pops in the southern desert region in room "Arid Black Desert" (room # 48104) which is a few rooms outside of the Lost Grove, do "search hole
". When you fail the search a lizard bites you!
to dog egg
You say to a large dog (in humanic): "egg"
You bend down and mention something about a tiny egg to the silver dog.
A large dog takes the tiny silver egg from you greedily.
Thank you for your gift. Its been a long time since I've had such a delicacy.
In return, I shall tell you how to summon the most majestic creature that once walked this grove: the unicorn stallion.
A large dog tells you:
"In order to summon the stallion, you must plant a sapphire blue tear in a faerie ring during the full moon. Any other time, you shall fail."
Note: I think you can skip the previous steps and start here.
Catch a Fragile Sapphire Tear from the weeping willow tree in the Lost Grove, "Before a Grand Weeping Willow", room# 48134. You get 3 tries per repop, it doesnt always work.
"catch tear
"
Kneeling down before the tree, you pick out a safe spot just beneath one of its eyes in a hope to catch a falling tear drop.
[wait a while]
The branches of the ancient weeping willow shudder as the tree literally begins to weep.
The wails become louder and louder and the branches of the willow tree shake violently with grief.
You will now have the "Fragile Sapphire Tear" in your inventory!
Go to the Faerie Circle that is south of KhaDa "Faerie Ring", room# 26554.
From the Kha-Da Obelisk do speed 6s2uene
to get to the deadend in the mountains with the fairy circle.
Make sure there is a full moon out.
bury tear
Kneeling beside the faerie ring, you carefully plant a fragile sapphire tear in its center.
The sapphire tear sinks into the earth and the faerie ring begins to thrum with power.
From within the center of the faerie ring, a sapphire blue mist begins to rise.
When the mist clears, a unicorn stallion stands within the ring of stones!
The unicorn stallion bows his head, brushing his horn to the ground.
to unicorn hi
You greet the unicorn stallion.
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"Greetings. It has been a long time seen I have seen someone such as you in there parts. But I am not sure this is a good thing."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"Ah, long have I waited for one such as thee. One who is versed in both woodland lore and fighting skills. I would be forever in your debt if you could find it in your heart to aid me."
ask stallion aid
You ask the unicorn stallion about aid.
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"Many years ago, my mate and I lived in a lush, flourishing grove, deep in the heart of a valley. The valley was protected by a powerful goddess, and all was well."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"But then one day, our peaceful lives were shattered. The goddess was thwarted by her lesser siblings, and her powers of protection over the valley faded, leaving those of us left in the valley unprotected."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"And so began a horrible passage of events that ended with the loss of my mate."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"I had gone out scouting, trying to find a suitable place to rest out the winter in what remained of the once mighty grove. But in my absence, some vile creature, smelling of filth, entered the remnants of the grove and attacked my mate. Before I could arrive to assist her, the creature had savagely cut off her alicorn."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"Often our race have been hunted for our horns, for they are magical and are what give us life. While the goddess lived and protected the valley, we never had to worry about the hunters. But after her usurpation, it was terrible. My mate and I were the last of our kind, and I had failed her!"
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"In rage, I chased the hunter from the grove, past the pyramid, and for many leagues beyond. Nonetheless, I finally lost him. And I haven't been able to return to the grove since. The memories are too painful."
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"If the alicorn which was stolen from my mate is found and placed once again on her head, she can be brought back to life!"
The unicorn stallion tells you: "So tell me, please, will you help me?"
to unicorn yes
The unicorn stallion bows before you.
-*- You have been assigned a quest! -*-
The unicorn stallion tells you:
"Thank you for agreeing to help me. In the hidden grove, within the valley, I have a friend who witnessed most of my mates demise. Do not be afraid of his doggish form. He is a stalwart servant of the Goddess. Ask him about my mate and he should be able to help."
Go back to the Lost Grove and talk to the Large Dog there.
-- I can't get the dog to tell me anything new, only the same thing about how to summon the stallion --
Probably tells you to get an "Alicorn" horn from Desert Scarab Lair: 2nd Level
Go get that "nearly-lifeless alicorn" horn from the skeleton in the Desert Scarab Lair: 2nd Level
"Searching through the skeleton, you find an alicorn clutched in its hands!"
In the Lost Grove go to "Southeast Corner - A Stand of Ashwood Trees" room# 48141
and start tracking the unicorn
"look scratch
"
The fresh gouges in the dirt seem indicative of some type of animal's tracks.
"track unicorn
"
The unicorn's trail, which seems magically preserved, leads to the west.
From here keep going the direction it tells you and in room do "track unicorn
" to get the new direction to go. or just "speed 2w2nwnw
" from the first room.
This will take you all the way to "A Forest Grove Surrounding Ruins" room# 48129.
"track unicorn
"
The unicorn's trail ends here, right before a thick patch of foliage.
"look foliage
"
Looking into the patch of foliage, you catch a glimpse of silver hidden behind the patch of foliage. Out of curiosity, you pull aside the foliage and there, lying beneath its green branches and leaves, lies the crumpled form of a unicorn. It does not look to be breathing.
"place alicorn unicorn
"
Kneeling before the crumpled, stone-like form of the unicorn, you gently place the broken alicorn up to the beast's forehead, where the horn was broken from.
Suddenly, a bright flash issues forth from the alicorn, bathing it and the unicorn in a nimbus of blue light.
The sound of a harp's melody runs through the grove briefly, and a feeling of life and wonderment fills your being before it fades away.
Suddenly, the blue nimbus around the unicorn ceases and the horned beast rises steadily to its feet, alicorn and all.
The unicorn looks straight into your eyes and you hear its voice in your head:
" I cannot thank you enough for freeing me. I have been in this grove for centuries, waiting for someone like you to take up the task of freeing me. I am forever in your debt. Perhaps one day I can return the favor. "
-- You gain 3 quest points! --
The tip of the unicorn's horn begins to glow and the unicorn suddenly disappears.
